Dear friends of Cuban music,

We - the musicians of COHIMBRE - come from the passionate Oriente de Cuba. In 1998 we moved to picturesque Trinidad, one of the oldest towns in Cuba. You can listen to our music there in the Canchánchara, our resident bar in the historic old town or in one of the other music bars in town.

In the summers of 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009 we toured Germany...and there is good news: We are back for a new tour from May to October 2010. The fans of COHIMBRE can again look forward to enjoy our magnificent music!.

During our last tour, our fans were able to see us live in more than 35 concerts during. We were very enchanted - and as the reactions showed - our audience as well. Please have a look yourself: in Performances you will find the dates of our concerts in 2010 and a short retrospective of our previous tours.

COHIMBRE has a new bassist, Ernesto Rosell Martínez. Ernesto (called Tico) comes from Amancio in the province of Las Tunas. He studied music at the conservatory in Camagüey and has worked since 1989 as a professionell musician. He not only plays the bass in an outstanding way but also has a great voice and plays the guitar as well as the tres brilliantly. In addition, he is a successfull songwriter (over 30 songs, including several catchy tunes). Before joining COHIMBRE in fall 2009, he was a member of another band in Trinidad (since 2003).

Otherwise, we will stay with the tried and tested main cast: Juan Carlos Núñez Hinojosa (percussion and vocals), Leonel Oliva Salas (guitars and vocals), Luis Oliva Salas (singer), Alexander Ramos Castillo (tres).
